Earl Campbell opened Zion Delight to feed the south side of Atlanta the way his mama and her mama fed them — slow, generous, with no apologies.
We're a hole-in-the-wall on McDonough Blvd. Cafeteria-style line, paper plates heaped till the edges, sweet tea by the gallon. A small stage in the corner for when somebody feels like singing.
Come hungry. Stay a while. You'll leave family.
Earl's story →Slide a tray down the line. Point at what looks good. Pile it on. No menus, no waiting, no fuss.
Eggs, grits, salmon croquettes, biscuits and gravy. Open before the city wakes up.
Office lunches, church anniversaries, family reunions. Half- and full-trays of everything.
Lot out front, no app, no validation. Wheelchair-accessible spot by the door.
“Oxtails fell off the bone. Mac & cheese was crispy on top, creamy underneath. This is the real deal — like Sunday at grandma's.”
“Catered our church anniversary — 80 plates, every one of them clean by the end. Greens were perfect. They'll be feeding us again.”
“5am breakfast hits different. Salmon croquettes, grits with butter melting in. Earl was at the counter, the whole spot just feels right.”
“Hole in the wall, no fuss, just food that tastes like somebody loved you while they cooked it. Get the cobbler.”
